About the Opportunity

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking Senior Medical Typists to join their Histopathology team based at Bowen Hills. These roles are being offered on a part-time flexi and maternity relief basis. The successful applicant will be required to cover a variety of shifts over a 24 hour period Monday to Friday and have the flexibility to change as required.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Medical Typist will be typing medical reports.

 Some of the key duties of this role will be to:

  • Generate medical reports;
  • Uphold quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures;
  • Comply with OH&S policies and programs;
  • Satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers;
  • Participate in in-service training and train other staff as required; and
  • Perform special duties as required to contribute to the implementation of the strategic plan and effective functioning of the organisation as a whole.

The successful applicants will bring an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to the working environment and will have a good working knowledge of medical terminology, highly-developed communication skills and a typing speed of at least 80 words per minute. Any experience in histological office procedures will also be highly regarded.
